Spend Boxing Day with Bernard on BBC Radio London!

Here's a lovely festive treat for all fans of classic British comedy. The legendary Bernard Cribbins, who celebrates his 90th birthday on 29 December, will be presenting a very special programme this Boxing Day on BBC Radio London.

Bernard Cribbins' Comedy Classics will feature Bernard playing some of the records that make him laugh, along with loads of stories and anecdotes about the stars he's worked with over the years. These include The Goons, Peter Sellers, Joyce Grenfell, Stanley Holloway and many more. I'm sure Bernard might even play a couple of his own tracks over the course of the show!

Cribbins isn't exactly a stranger to recording his own music and you can enjoy a few of his classic records right here

It's been a busy few months for Bernard, with the publication of his autobiography. And given how much the nation loves Cribbins, Isn't it time he was knighted?

Bernard Cribbins' Comedy Classics will be broadcast on BBC Radio London on Boxing Day from 10am. And of course, if you're not in the London area you can listen online live or after the programme is broadcast. You can access the programme page to listen again right here.

My London with Angela Douglas

Actress and author Angela Douglas will be in conversation with Gary Crowley on BBC Radio London today. The interview, part of the regular 'My London' strand, will see Angela talk about her life, career and what London means to her. Born in Buckinghamshire, Angela has spent most of her life living in the capital.

Gary has promised tales from the Carry Ons as well as mention of Roger Moore, Montgomery Clift and Angela's first husband, the actor Kenneth More. Angela is probably best remembered for appearing in four Carry Ons in the 1960s - Cowboy as Annie Oakley, Screaming as Doris Mann, Follow That Camel as Lady Jane and finally Up The Khyber as Princess Jelhi.

This is a great radio series which last year featured the late, great Liz Fraser in a hugely entertaining hour which saw her reminisce about her long, diverse life living and working in the capital. I'm sure Angela's programme will be equally enjoyable.

'My London with Angela Douglas' will be broadcast on BBC Radio London today at 1pm, repeated at 9pm. It will also be available to listen again online shortly after broadcast here

BBC Radio London repeat Liz Fraser's 'My London'

BBC Radio London have today aired a lovely tribute to the late Liz Fraser. Last year Liz, known for her lifetime in the very best of British film, television and stage, was interviewed as part of the "My London" series by Gary Crowley. I listened at the time and remember it as a great programme full of warmth, wit and nostalgia.

"My London" focuses on the memories of famous Londoners and what it was like to grow up in the country's capital. The hour long programme saw Liz remember her early life growing up in Southwark, south London in the 1930s, before the war years intervened. Liz was always good value as an interviewee, never one to shy away from telling it as it is!

Best known for her film comedy roles, Liz appeared in four Carry Ons - Regardless as Delia King, Cruising as Gladys Trimble, Cabby as Sally and finally Carry On Behind as Sylvia Ramsden. Other film roles included I'm All Right Jack, A Pair of Briefs, Two Way Stretch, The Americanisation of Emily and the big screen version of Dad's Army. On television Liz was seen in Citizen James, Hancock's Half Hour, Jason King, The Avengers, The Professionals, Foyle's War, Holby City and Last of the Summer Wine.

In the programme Liz remembers her early film roles and working with the likes of Sid James, Tony Hancock, Peter Sellers and Roger Moore.

Listen Again: Fenella Fielding on BBC Radio London

The brilliant Fenella Fielding was a guest on Jo Good's BBC Radio London show this afternoon to talk about her life, career and new memoir, Do You Mind If I Smoke? Fenella was on sparkling form as usual and talked about her long, diverse career as an actress, her origins in London and of course, her working relationship with a certain Kenneth Williams.

It was a real treat to hear Fenella on the radio and a highlight was Jo sharing a tale of her driving through London in her Mini while Miss Fielding delicately painted her nails! What an image that conjures up! I was also delighted that Jo read out my question for Fenella on her reasons for turning down Carry On Cleo. If you want to know more about that, it's in the book!

You can listen again to Fenella's interview with Jo online here: Jo Good on BBC Radio London - it will be available shortly after broadcast and Fenella appears with her friend and co-author Simon McKay just after 3pm.

If you haven't got yourself a copy of Fenella's fantastic memoir you can buy a signed copy via Fenella's official website www.fenellafielding.com/

Listen Again: Fenella Fielding on BBC Radio London

Legendary actress Fenella Fielding was a guest on Jo Good's BBC Radio London show on Monday. Fenella is a busy lady at the moment with her forthcoming audio book of memoirs to promote, her upcoming live performances of that memoir at the Phoenix Artist Club in London and some Tears, Treachery and Just A Little Murder at the St James Theatre this very evening!

Fenella will be performing in Tears, Treachery and Just A Little Murder at London's St James Theatre tonight:

Join Fenella Fielding and Stephen Greif on a tempestuous odyssey through a startlingly modern world of men and gods, an epic journey embracing seduction and loss, jealousy and cunning, tears, treachery and just a little murder…

Lust and longing; laughter; pathos; anger; terror; tears: the Greeks knew all there is to know about human passions. And they wrote about them vividly in poetry and drama. Now, in David Stuttard’s vibrant very speak-able English translations, the legendary Fenella Fielding and Stephen Greif make these emotions live again.

Fenella will also be performing excerpts from her memoir "Do You Mind If I Smoke?" over eight shows at the Phoenix Artist Club from 5 November. You can find out more about that here

Jacki Piper interviewed on BBC Radio London

The gorgeous, always lovely Jacki Piper was interviewed on BBC Radio London this morning. Many thanks to my Twitter pal Alex Urban for drawing my attention to this!

Sadly I missed the interview although thankfully the whole programme is available to listen again on the BBC London website. Jacki appears from around 2 hours 40 for those who want to get straight down to it!

In the interview, Jo Good and Simon Lederman ask Jacki all about her time working on the Carry Ons. Most Carry On fans will have heard these stories before but they are always an absolute joy to listen to. Jacki's main reason for appearing on the show was to discuss her forthcoming appearance at the Museum of Comedy on 28 November.

You can listen to the interview here
