Kenneth Williams On Song

Ah the Carry On Weekend is officially over. It's all a bit sad isn't it? Well let's try and keep you smiling on this bright and sunny Tuesday morning.

I make no secret of the fact that I adore Kenneth Williams both in the Carry Ons and in many of his other wonderful appearances. In 1982, the year I was born, he recorded a special "An Audience With" programme for television. It was a star studded affair with the likes of Gordon Jackson, Brian Forbes, Barry Took, Joan Sims and Bernard Bresslaw all in the audience to soak up some of Kenneth's best anecdotes.

As part of this classic performance Kenneth performed two wonderful comedy songs. The first, The Ballad of the Woggler's Moulie, comes straight from his classic radio comedy days. Normally confined to the radio, it's brilliant to see a televised performance:

Kenneth finished his one man show with a rousing rendition of his classic "Ma Crepe Suzette". I absolutely adore this and it never fails to cheer me up. His natural flair for performance and brilliant comic timing are on display here for all to see:

So take some time today to sit back, relax and enjoy Kenneth Williams in his prime! Oooh, what a beauty!
