Carry On filming locations revealed

Have you ever wondered where the Carry On films were actually made? Most of us are aware that the movies were made on an extremely tight budget so most of the filming took place in and around the fabulous, legendary Pinewood Studios.

When location work was required, the crew never travelled very far, even when the film in question demanded a "foreign" location. Most of the exterior shots were filmed around Buckinghamshire and the south coast of England. I think the furthest the team ever got was Camber Sands for Follow That Camel and Brighton for At Your Convenience and Girls. Nice work if you can get it!

Some clever person has produced some lovely little videos for Youtube showing locations then and now and I thought they were worth sharing here on the blog. The first looks at locations filmed around Ealing in West London and the second concentrates on Windsor. I am also including a video hosted by Carry On star June Whitfield which takes in some other important locations used in the films.

I hope you enjoy them!
